Mower Blade Sharpening

Does my lawn mower blades need to be sharpened?

· Inspect blades for dull, nicks or chips out of blade

· My mower does not cut on the first pass around it leaves higher spots or strips

· Grass is not cut nice and crisp it resembles being ripped

· Grass turns yellow or brown one or two days after mowing

Why should you have sharp mower blades?

· Cleaned manicured looking lawn

o A sharp blade will cut the grass clean, a dull blade will smash the blade of grass causing it to turn brown and stress your lawn.

· Should inspect your blades every 8-10 hours of the mowing season

o look for dull blades, nicks, or bent blades also watch the thickness of your blades and check the blades for any cracks

· Blades should be sharpened on average at the start of the mowing season and again about half way through
